ECABREN/SABRN Joint Meeting
ECABREN and SABRN held a joint meeting in Mbeya, southern Tanzania from 2nd to 5th October 2007.
INERA Training in Income Generating Bean Recipes
Forty-four INERA stakeholders from diverse groups including health nutrition centres, women's associations, community-based organisations, hotel restaurants, and the public-private sector received training in preparation of income generating bean recipes (bean biscuits, bean sambusa, kalimati, bean rolls and fingers). The training was organised by ECABREN in collaboration with INERA Mulungu in Bukavu town, eastern DR Congo from 21 to 25 August 2007.
FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES
Tropical Legume Productivity Proposal
ECABREN partners from Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania were part of a consortium of partners that participated in the development of a proposal on Improving Tropical Legume Productivity in Africa and South Asia using conventional breeding technologies, with an emphasis on drought.

CIAT in Africa Highlights
Four of the newly published Highlights in the CIAT in Africa Highlights series (No. 29, 31, 34 and 35) may be of interest to PABRA members. This series, initiated in 2003, summarises research results and policy implications from the work of CIAT and its partners in Africa and its partners in Africa and all 35 briefs can be downloaded from the CIAT Africa website.
